Data Analyst
Love turning raw data into sharp business insights?
We are looking for a Data Analyst with a strong technical foundation in Python and SQL to join a specialist team in central Auckland. This role is for someone who enjoys the intersection of statistical methodology and data analytics, moving beyond basic reporting to execute complex analyses and maintain robust data workflows.
You’ll join a team that values habitual curiosity and high-quality technical output, using analytical scripts to translate datasets into clear, actionable narratives. While there is a specialized geospatial component, the core of this role is about technical ownership, automation, and applying statistical thinking to drive business decisions. This is an ideal next step for an experienced analyst who thrives on blending mathematical rigour with creative storytelling.
You will:
Deliver High-Quality Products: Work collaboratively to support the delivery of customer data insights and geospatial analytics on time and to customer requirements.
Deep Dive into Data: Analyze datasets to identify trends and patterns using statistical methods and modeling to support critical business decisions.
Code & Automate: Use Python and SQL to assist in producing analytics outputs, with a focus on turning manual processes into scalable, automated workflows.
Visualize & Storytell: Assist in creating templated and bespoke reports, dashboards, and visualizations that turn complex data into actionable narratives.
Maintain Data Integrity: Help maintain best-practice data quality, security, and the currency of essential datasets like census and spatial data.
Collaborate Regionally: Work with internal teams to ensure analytics outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with broader business goals.
What’s in it for you?
Collaborative Culture: Join a team that values being curious, being awesome (not average) and puts "Passion in Play".
Innovation-Led Environment: Exposure to leading-edge projects, including the building of an AI-powered analytics platform and advanced geospatial modeling.
Growth & Impact: A role where you can build deep expertise in data analytics and geospatial methods while seeing your insights drive real value.
You’ll bring:
Experience: At least 3 years in a data analysis role, preferably with exposure to customer insights or geospatial intelligence.
Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel, with the ability to write and maintain analytical scripts.
Mathematical Mindset: A solid understanding of statistical methodologies
Communication Skills: The ability to explain findings and recommended actions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education: A BSc/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management, or a related field.
Bonus points for:
Experience with Esri (ArcGIS suite) or similar mapping applications.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a willingness to contribute ideas to improve standard products.
Ready to bring data to life and shape insights that matter?
Contact Amaan on 0220607986 or Email on amaan.kazmi@randstaddigital.co.nz to find out more or apply.
At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
