The Role

Otaki to Peka Peka is $400M highways improvement project that will provide a bypass of Otaki, a four-lane expressway to ease congestion and improve the movement of freight and people through the region.

Our Client is seeking a Site Engineer with general civils or roading experience to help bring the project to successful completion. This is an excellent opportunity to establish a career in infrastructure in the Wellington region. With a strong outlook on future works, and a team dedicated to training and promoting from within, this role will give an established Site Engineer a wide range of future opportunities.

Key accountabilities of the position include

Understand contract drawings and be able to communicate specifications to the construction team

Develop strong working relationships with Foremen to ensure measurements and quantities are in line with the goals of the project

Assist Project Engineer with project planning, including programme, work methods, procurement.

Undertake the design of temporary works

Prepare Work Plans, Inspections, Test Plan, and Job Risk Analysis

Quality control of direct and subcontract works

Record keeping for performance monitoring

Maintaining a Site Diary to record labour, plant, progress

Uphold high standards for all matters relating to safety

What we need

Bachelor of Engineering

2+years site-based experience in civils projects

2+years site-based experience in civils projects

Excellent communication skills

A team-focused attitude
