Job Description:
Our public sector client is looking for a Senior Project manager and a Project Manager to join a programme around Government Procurement. The candidates must have experience in business change projects in government with multi-agencies impacts and stakeholders essential. Strong change management skills also is really desirable. Knowledge in Procurement would be a bonus.
Personal Specifications
You are required to hold a valid vaccination pass to be employed.
Considerable project management experience in high-risk legislation, regulation or business improvement initiatives
Experience and specialist skills in a wide range of good practice methodologies including project management e.g. PRINCE2 or equivalent (essential)
Well-developed skills in presenting to senior level governance forums, including responsibility for high quality senior level papers, minutes and actions which reflect the level of seniority of the governance forum
Ability to absorb and analyse high volumes of information, including technical information. Capable of developing alternative pathways to achieving outcomes.
Experience in leading and managing multi-stream and multi-agency projects, planning and designing the project while proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
Influencing and relationship management skills, with the ability to create and encourage a motivated environment
Able to demonstrate a strong capability in ensuring effective quality assurance and overall integrity of large projects of work
Highly developed communication skills to inform, persuade and influence
Financial acumen in managing project budgets, an ability to identify project benefits, and to deliver against those benefits.
Experience working collaboratively to analyse problems and develop solutions
Considerable experience in managing a wide range of stakeholders with varied views, and a demonstrated ability to balance project needs and deliverables with agency impacts
Experience in the private and public sector including accountability for large transformational projects
Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects, including risk management.
Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
An in-depth understanding of the Public Sector environment and a demonstrated understanding of policy and legislative processes, including Government decision-making and operating procedures.
Flexibility to adapt within a fast-moving environment, initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the project are identified or issues arise

Inter-agency delivery experience.
