If you are someone who sees change as opportunity then we are keen to hear from you. The newly established Workplace Services Group at Te Tari Taiwhenua (DIA) is seeking proven leaders who know what good looks like and are keen to make their mark.

Te Tari Taiwhenua is on a journey to lift its privacy maturity. This is an exciting newly established role where you will be responsible for leading Te Tari Taiwhenua’s central privacy function. You will build the Privacy team from the ground up and lead the delivery of a challenging multi-year work programme.

The Privacy team will be responsible for providing strategic and operational advice on privacy and promoting and embedding a privacy aware culture within the Department so that staff, members of the public and the government retain the highest level of confidence in the Department’s ability to safeguard the personal information it holds.

You will have proven experience

As a Privacy manager in another government agency OR significant experience at a Lead or Senior Advisor level

Managing and leading a high-performing team (highly desirable)

Providing advice on complex privacy issues

Applying your knowledge of the Privacy Act 2020 in a New Zealand government agency

Developing and managing relationships at all levels

Facilitating and influencing decision making with senior managers and key stakeholders

Delivering significant work programmes of a similar nature into organisations

You will bring strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills and have the ability and desire to recognise and seize opportunities to improve on Te Tari Taiwhenua’s performance.

Ideally you will be a New Zealand Citizen who is able to gain and maintain a TOP-SECRET national security clearance.
