Mondiale VGL was formed by the merger of NZ Private Equity owned Mondiale with Australia based, VISA Global Logistics. The resulting expanded international footprint makes them a serious force, and top 30 player, in the global logistics market with a customer portfolio of the “who’s who” of local and international blue-chip brands. A seasoned CIO is now required to create a best practice global technology function, support merger integration and make the most of M&A opportunities.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the CIO will play an essential role in integrating the IT platforms of newly merged companies, creating a culture of high-performance, and developing an effective and efficient technology infrastructure solution for a growth orientated globally competitive freight forwarding company. You will work across countries with the likelihood of future expansion in time.
To be successful in this role you will be a CIO or senior executive with a significant commercial track record including integration of IT systems, solutions, and staff. You will bring a high level of strategic ability and results that give the executive team and Board confidence that you are the right person for their growing global footprint. Ideally you will know logistics and freight forwarding systems and what it means to be successful in a competitive sector. You will be pragmatic, a good communicator, excellent with staff and willing to roll your sleeves up to get the work completed within agreed timeframes. Their culture is non-hierarchical and collaborative so we’re looking for that mix of experience and capability, strategic agility, yet hands-on.
You will have a big mandate – standardise, simplify, automate, digitise. Help the business to continue its growth efficiently using smart tech. You will be a strong communicator, adept at stake-holder management across all levels, experienced in running change processes, someone who leads from the front. Your style with be consultative and highly collaborative.
