The Role
Due to the company's continued expansion there is an exciting opportunity for a Ruby/Rails Developer to join the busy team on a permanent basis, ideally based in one of their Auckland offices. - Hybrid working is available.
This role will work closely with the development manager and team lead s to complete technical tasks, perform small proof of concepts for different technology ideas and provide technical assistance to the architects on software application architecture design.
This role reports directly to the development manager.
The primary responsibility for this role is to develop new features, maintain existing codebase, resolve system defects and help the development team to deliver quality code changes and support product development.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop the insurance application using Ruby/Rails, TypeScript, jQuery, REST API etc
Code review to other team members work to ensure their changes meet the application coding standards
Contribute to technical design for new functionality
Provide technical support to JAVLN support team and delivery team for issue resolution
Perform technical research or small PoC projects to reduce technical debt and improve application performance, security etc
Your Skills and Experience
Your Skills and Experience
You will have a minimum of 2 years work experience in Ruby
Working experience with Rest API.
Familiar with TypeScript and comfortable with Vue.js or React.
Comfortable writing Unit test, functional test etc.
Good relational database knowledge e.g. MySQL, Postgres or Oracle.
