Please note: Due to the Covid pandemic New Zealand’s borders remain closed to anyone not a citizen or resident. Therefore we can only consider NZ citizens and residents or others already living in New Zealand with appropriate working visas.

An Auckland based manufacturer of water filtration and treatment systems, used in industrial and council water systems around the country, needs an experienced Workshop Foreman with ASME IX welding skills, to take over and lead the fabrication team.

The job and person.

We are looking for a Mechanical Workshop Foreman, someone with carbon and stainless steel welding skills, preferably to ASME IX, who knows how to (or is keen to learn how to) run a fabrication workshop.

Ideally, you will have about 10 years experience in pipe fitting/welding and preferably, 3 or 4 at Foreman level.

You will be someone that likes to see a quality job ‘done right the first time’, and who enjoys mentoring those who work under you.

A knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs is necessary for this position.

This job will have you looking after the quality your team produces, liaising with design engineers and project managers to ensure your team can build what’s is needed, carrying out some stock control and ordering of the materials the team will need and generally ensuring the safe and efficient running of the workshop.

Whilst supervisory level experience is preferred, training will be available if you have the other skills but are light on ‘management’ experience.

Sound like you? Let’s talk.
