With an iconic brand portfolio including OZtrail, Companion and Campfire, Adventure Operations are looking to further build and expand the business reach in the NZ market.

An incredible opportunity has come up to manage the NZ Sales function and the business is looking to engage a driven, highly motivated, and ambitious individual to lead the NZ team and accelerate the growth across the NZ market.

Adventure Operations has an existing footprint across NZ with an office based in Christchurch and a 3PL function located on the North Island. The Sales Manager role will be based in the North Island however the exact location of the successful individual is flexible (Auckland, Waikato, BOP, or the Central North Island).

About the Role

This is a diverse role and will report directly to the CEO of Adventure Operations who is based in Brisbane. The position has accountability for managing the overall sales function in the NZ region and the scope of responsibility in this role will include

Driving the execution of the strategic direction of the NZ market developing strategies for growth

Structure the annual sales plan, KPI’s & P&L budgets

Managing sales in the North Island including selected National customers (such as Hunting and Fishing, Rebel Sport and Torpedo 7)

Analyzing customer base & providing proactive feedback to the business on performance & opportunities for growth within customer portfolio

Planning/facilitating cross-selling objectives with customer portfolio & proactively identify opportunities to increase sales across core product range

Attending & representing the business at product/tradeshows

Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of customer accounts & market trends, ensuring ability to effectively influence core product ranges & offerings

Working closely with customer portfolio to forecast & plan future product ranges & business requirements

Working closely with the Marketing Team to develop periodic promotional /marketing programs & oversee roll-out of programs in conjunction with customers

Providing advice & support to portfolio of customers on merchandising/sales techniques to increase sales on core range

Building out & managing relationships with the operational team(s) to ensure the correct demand forecasting & stock availability for NZ

Managing the day-to-day relationship with the 3PL function

The Sales Manager will have two direct reports - the South Island Sales Representative and the Customer Service Officer and will hold reporting lines back to Head Office in Brisbane.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Sales Manager looking for a new challenge or a highly experienced Senior Territory Manager or Area Manager ready to take that next step in their career.

About You

You will come with solid sales and account management experience, ideally from the wholesale or retail-focussed sector (such as outdoor, FMCG, big-box retail or hardware). You enjoy thinking strategically but are also not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

You love data and can use various analytical tools to measure performance and identify new opportunities. You are not afraid to try new things and flourish in the freedom to do what you do best. Your natural leadership abilities will see you successfully engage and steer the NZ team whilst building strong working relationship in a multi-functional business.
