The opportunity
You will lead a team of eight in supply chain support, purchasing, and master data. Based in Auckland, you will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for leading all purchasing and supply chain support activities and providing leadership to your team.
This is not your typical Purchasing and Supply Support Management role. Not only will you be managing all technical aspects of the role, but you will also be provided with the opportunity to provide genuine leadership, provide coaching and development to your team (thereby shaping their careers and improving the efficiency and efficacy of the purchasing function), and contributing to the broader supply chain strategy.
This is not a desk-bound role and as such, you will be expected to proactively engage with stakeholders, build and maintain relationships and effectively influence and communicate with key stakeholders and suppliers.
Broadly your responsibilities will include
Lead and develop team members
Establish and manage all purchasing activity including supplier performance
Continuously improvement purchasing systems, processes, and performance
Implement purchasing strategies to ensure continuous supply
Work with relevant stakeholders to proactively and continually achieve cost reductions and optimal use of working capital
Demonstrate leadership and effective stakeholder management
Contribute to company-wide S&OP as a key member of the Supply Chain Management Team
Work in collaboration with procurement to negotiate pricing and supply agreements
What’s in it for you
An experienced Purchasing/Supply Chain Support Manager (ideally) with a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or an NZPICS or CIPS member you will have experience working in a leadership role.
