About the Role

This role reports into the experienced Head of Sales and Marketing NZ, with 3 direct reports (Campaign & Partnership Specialist and Graphic Designers) while working alongside the Digital Marketing Manager.

Put simply - this role is accountable for overseeing marketing promotions and projects across the Les Mills New Zealand group. The prime responsibility is to ensure that Les Mills achieves its marketing objective of attracting and retaining members in an Everyday Premium brand-aligned way.

This critical role is responsible for setting up the overarching national integrated marketing from planning through to implementation through the clubs, direct comms to customers through the full customer lifecycle and awareness/lead gen comms.

This role is therefore responsible for the annual marketing plan and promotions calendar for New Zealand managing both the acquisition and retention of customers - while ensuring in all marketing communications the brand tone of voice and customer experience is considered at every touchpoint

Day to day TTL channels that require hands on management include TVOD, OOH, radio, sponsorship/events, PR with an agency/comms. Regarding the digital suite of marketing comms this role works closely with the Digital Marketing Manager who is responsible for managing all digital activity.

This role has a focus on lead generation targeted 18-35 new members so experience in this area/target audience would be useful. A passion for the fitness industry is mandatory here.

As you’d expect this senior level role requires a high level of stakeholder management and collaboration both internally and externally as well as leadership skills managing direct reports. In particular this role works closely with all members of the NZ office as well as the 12 club managers – building and maintaining these relationships is essential for success in this role. Exactly the same goes with their awesome agencies where there are true partnerships regarding the strategy and deliverables for all marketing.

This role is a great opportunity as it is broad and close to the stay as well as working with the SLT.

This role is commercial and requires a data and insights experienced marketer to ensure all marcomms enhance customer profitability, while also being very brand/customer centric also – it really is broad in the best kind of way.

About You

You will have several years intermediate/senior marketing experience with some form of retail experience - working in a fast-paced high performing environment. Working collaboratively with teams and agencies with strong project management, analytical, creative, attention to detail and relationship management skills. It is essential you will understand brand, retail, acquisition and retention and be passionate about the fitness industry.

You will have experience developing and rolling out retail-based marketing calendars with the customer and brand and the heart of everything you do. Same goes for retaining customers. You will have experience working with a brand and understanding the value of weaving that brand into all retail comms with proven results continuously optimising in the retention and acquisition space

You will have experience managing the strategy with the support of key stakeholders and implementation for TTL channels including TV On Demand, OOH, radio, sponsorship/evets. You will also have experience working alongside a Digital Marketing Manager. Plus experience working with a PR agency and you will be able to write copy ad hoc as well.

Creative and customer centric of course you will also love using data to create actional commercial insights ultimately driving commercial performance of this company’s products.

You will be a strategic and commercial marketing professional with experience managing TTL end to end campaigns. With an always on layer and promotions you will be familiar knowing what levers to pull. This role truly requires both an acquisition and retention expert to lead and implement the marcomms.

Naturally you will have built solid relationship and worked in partnership with agencies to help you fulfil your planning and delivery of successful marketing campaigns.
