Inventory Manager – FMCG

The company is a multi-national who specialises in tailoring best in class warehousing and distribution services to the FMCG industry. They have an opportunity for an experienced Inventory Manager to lead this part of the business which is purely focused on distribution out to a variety of channels for a key client based in Auckland.
The role is based at one of their key clients sites in East Auckland and you will lead all inventory activities across the site which is focused on distribution of their finished goods. The role reports to the Operations Manager and has people leadership responsibilities of which your team will consist of 3 Inventory Controllers who all work in closely with the warehousing teams. The product mix is all FMCG related and the volumes are consistently high each day.
Key responsibilities will be to
Lead day to day inventory activities across the site and ensure all team task are allocated and completed.
Manage and maintain a high level of stock accuracy overseeing cycle counts and investigating discrepancies.
Reporting of inventory KPI’s in line with clients service level agreements to ensure accurate reporting.
Inventory training across all Operators and Team Members.
Oversee activities across returns, damages, claims and variances to stock transfers.
Maintain accurate record keeping on the WMS system.
What’s in it for you?
This is a busy role that will keep you engaged and challenged. We are looking for someone who comes from a background in inventory, warehousing and logistics with demonstrated experience in leading inventory activities. 3PL or FMCG experience would be desirable though is not essential.
We are ideally looking for 3 to 5 years experience in key inventory positions whereby you can talk us through your proven successes in leading inventory activities. Experience in leading teams will certainly be of interest though we are open to providing the opportunity for someone to step up to a leadership role, providing they have the right skills to do so.
The role will certainly keep you on your toes however there is significant opportunities for growth and development should you be successful in this position.
