About the Role

Your remit will be everything safety! You will oversight operations to ensure consistency of process and business wide compliance, while coaching operational leaders on best practice HSE. This is true ownership and reporting to the CEO you can bring your initiatives to the table.

You will manage one direct report, while being hands-on across national branches - your technical advice will be invaluable, as is mitigation of risk through visibility and onsite presence. You will advise at Exec level including the implementation of the annual HSE play. It’s a key role that influences continuous improvement.

With a new system and lots of positive change, this role is about the next stage of operational and capability uplift, through the enabling of team accountability. You will monitor and analyse metrics, to determine what needs to happen, happens!

In short - you will hover, initiate, act, lead, advise, audit and progress programs across the full sphere of health and safety.

About You

You love being the ‘Go To’ person and take pride in your technical know-how that allows a business to exceed objectives. Exceeding expectations through a solutions-focused approach sets you apart from others!

Your references will compliment you on your judgement, and you will be extremely objective – balancing people needs with business impact.

Thoroughness is your middle name. You are streetwise, have solid commercial savvy and nothing fazes you! With this, you’re extremely likeable, having a warmth and manner that influences those around you with ease - you can confidently tell us how you have positively shaped and changed mindsets.

Your HSE background of at least 8-10 years, will come from an operational environment and will include NZ experience – you must know local legislation, and you understand the nuances of Unionised workforces here.
