Based in Hamilton, Good George came to life after a bunch of friends got together and decided, after years in hospitality and brewing, it was time to create their own craft brewery. Their success has meant establishing 12 outlets throughout NZ to enjoy the Good George experience.
The founders were motivated to show people what great beer can be, convert drinkers from the norm and have a bit of fun along the way.
Alongside a core range of beers and cider, they have also branched out to making a range of popular and interesting gin and cocktails.
Their craft is getting noticed nationally and internationally but they are not stopping there!
About the Role
The GM eCommerce and Digital Marketing role is a critical role created to drive Good George’s online strategy.
With aggressive growth plans, digital transformation is at the core of how growth can be achieved, and this role is responsible for developing the digital vision as well as executing on the strategy to deliver immediate results as well as grow DTC sales both nationally and internationally.
The role will provide leadership, governance, and insight, with strong execution, developing key digital capabilities and assets to build broad consumer brand affinity that supports overall P&L delivery. Being a digitally guru, who enjoys researching best in class trends, you will own the digital P&L, to optimise digital spend by working with a combination of inhouse Good George staff and key digital partners with the overall aim to create a fantastic online customer experience. This will involve ownership of the eCommerce infrastructure and developing the vision of growing Good George to be the top online retailer.
You will work closely with the marketing team to create a strong Good George brand. This will involve developing creative content that can be integrated across all digital assets (social, apps, website) to provide a seamless experience online, as well as drive growth to all Good George’s outlets.
This role reports into the CEO and can be based in Hamilton or Auckland. If based in Auckland, the expectation is that you will travel to Hamilton twice a week.
You are an experienced people leader with experience in managing and developing both ecommerce and wider digital marketing strategies.
You are a strategic thinker who constantly strives to look for competitive advantages to be the best.
You are intrinsically driven by achieving growth and set yourself ambitious goals to do so.
You have extensive DTC experience and have developed and delivered a great online customer experience.
You are a collaborator who builds great relationships internally and with external agencies to build a “best in class” digital offering.
You are commercially astute and have had commercial experience managing a P&L.
