The Company

Well-established Automation Systems Integration and Engineering company who specialise in delivering projects across a wide variety of sectors and system platforms in this technical niche.

The company are stable and with strong work-flow and general growth in the automation sector they now they need Senior Automation Engineers to join their team.

You could be based out of their Tauranga or Auckland office for this role.

The Role

This Automation Engineering role will be a mix of Project Management, PLC Programming and Configuration of SCADA, PLC and HMI, Electrical Design and Drawings (not essential), Procurement, Safety Projects, Installation Supervision, and Project Commissioning.

The company are ideally wanting Senior Automation Engineers in Auckland or Tauranga. As a senior you will take the lead on projects and mentor other Automation Engineers on these too.

They may also consider a high level Intermediate Automation Engineer too.

There is a lot of local work and the company hire people with varying appetites to doing travel for commissioning trips and overtime. They are accommodating on these fronts so don’t let that stop you from applying and you could consider this as a viable, interesting, and potentially more diverse work alternative to working at a manufacturing plant, for a machinery building company, or a control systems product company.

Work Environment: Your work could be done at a mix of places including: the office, at home some days a week, or on a client site. In both locations a lot of the project work is fairly local.

Hours: Outside of the commissioning phase the standard hours are 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday and the Company are happy with flexi-start times to suit your lifestyle or dodge traffic.

Overtime + Site Allowances: Overtime is paid after 40 hours at your base rate (i.e. salary/52 weeks/40 hours). This really can add up if you choose to do significant overtime. Site allowances are also paid when you are away on site.

Likely you are tertiary qualified e.g. an Electrical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Software Engineer (or similar)

Automation Engineering/Control Systems Integration within a relevant sector: e.g. Food, Dairy, Water, Pharmaceutical, materials handling, machine building OEM, or general manufacturing environments

Automation Project Engineering experience, including Safety and Commissioning

You are a Control Systems Programmer with PLC, SCADA, and HMI experience

Electrical Layout Design Experience would be a bonus

Experience with Citect Scada &/or Wonderware/AVEVA products: System Platform, InTouch, & ArchestrA would highly desirable
