Our Opportunity

We are looking for a Qualified and NZ Registered Under 2's Early Childhood Teacher to work within a centre in Albany, Auckland. The Role

I am working with a wonderful purpose built centre based in Albany, who first opened their doors 40 years ago which goes to show how well established this centre is.

They are in need of an experienced and passionate infants teacher to step into their open role. Licensed for 130 children this centre has ensured they have large indoor and outdoor spaces for the children to have room to learn and play and this adds to the spacious and open feel environment they have within the centre. With a child initiated play learning structure, this centre is looking for a teacher with similar teaching philosphies.

You’ll work in an environment with uncompromising quality standards tailored specifically to the children and with child: teacher ratios well above the Ministry of Education’s requirements. This enables you to provide the highest level of care, interaction and education to the Tamariki. The child:teacher ratios are well above the government guidelines and they are a very well resourced centre.

Key responsibilities

Deliver a curriculum aligned to Te Whāriki

Plan, implement and evaluate a learning program that is responsive to the strengths and interests of children

Promote learning opportunities that are inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive

Document children’s learning and take responsibility for children’s profile books and e-portfolio as agreed with the center professional leader

The Successful Candidate

You will be a Qualified Early Childhood Teacher either provisionally or fully registered and have experience working within New Zealand. You will have experience and knowledge in working with under 2's. You will be flexible to work on a rostered basis and will be comfortable with both the opening and closing shifts.

Early childhood teaching qualification recognised by the Education Council of Aotearoa NZ

Knowledge and understanding of current early childhood education theory and practice

Knowledge and understanding of current early childhood education theory and practice

Be a team player who has great communication skills, with parents, staff and children

Can use initiative and is committed to quality practice standards and the principles of Te Whāriki

Enthusiasm and a strong desire to make a difference to children in their early years while building strong links with their whānau and families.
