general manager architecture (auckland)
Randstad Technologies, Digital and Data NZ are proud to be partnering with Fletcher Building’s Group Technology division to secure their NEW General Manager – Architecture to be based out of their Auckland office.
With major investment and continued growth planned nationally and internationally within the Technology team, this is a vital part of the Technology SLT at Fletcher Building. You will have direct sole accountability for the Architecture budget and have a number of direct and indirect reports. This is a unique opportunity to have a major influence on Fletcher Building’s long-term, core technology strategy and Enterprise Architecture as the business continues their digital transformation journey.
To be successful you will need to show extensive experience as a lead / manager within architecture. As a Group business, Fletcher Building has a large environment which will demand the skills of a GM that can demonstrate strong experience working within sizable enterprises. This position holds considerable business influence. From the start, the main stakeholder relationships to create are with the CIO and other Divisional SLT members, you will also need to create a strong relationship with the existing architecture team and those who join under your leadership.
As a broader overview, the key accountabilities to execute in this role are
Lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals, coordinating the evaluation and selection of future technologies and the upgrading or retiring of current technologies.
Participate as a member of the Group IT leadership team in bringing governance processes to the organisation’s architecture: infrastructure, telecommunications, networks, software applications, media, ecommerce and desktops.
Develop and communicate business/technology alignment plans to all stakeholders, divisional executive teams, employees, partners, customers (via GMIT’s).
Work with the Cyber Security team to assist in the Cyber strategy.
With the GT SLT leadership team, approve and prioritise the project portfolio as they related the selection, acquisition, development and installation of major information systems.
Conduct research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable with regard to industry trends and emerging technologies.
Act as primary liaison for the company’s technology vision via regular written and in-person communications with the organisation’s executives, senior managers and end users.
Supervise recruitment, development retention and organisation of all Architecture team members within budgetary objectives and people policies.
