Student Advocacy Officer
Provide advocacy advice to students
Student wellness policy implementation
Communication and engagement support.
This role is more than being part of a tertiary education institute and working with students, it’s about being part of a community – it’s helping shape our future generations and supporting young people become the best they can be!
What’s in it for you….
Not only do you get to make a huge difference in people’s lives, but in return you’ll receive amazing support too with incredible benefits such as, gym membership packages - school holiday programmes - health and counselling centres - a huge range of employee discounts at local businesses - plus the chance to upskill and complete tertiary courses!!
Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it?
What you’ll be doing…
The role itself will see you provide intervention support and accurate advocacy advice to students, resolving concerns, and providing process guidance. You will also get involved in developing and implementing policies to assist with student wellbeing, whilst also managing and reporting on appeal applications.
What we are looking for…
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has been a student advisor/advocacy officer within tertiary education before, or perhaps a law/policy graduate looking to move out of a corporate environment. You’ll need to possess a high level of self-confidence and resilience, strong analytical and problems solving skills, as well as experience in policy development. Exceptional communication and influencing skills are also essential to be a success in this challenging yet very rewarding role.
