Exciting programme of work with a Central Govt Agency
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Policy Advisor with strategic policy experience who is passionate about social and climate change issues. This role, with a large central government agency, sits in a Strategy & Evaluation team, that is in the early stages of a Climate Change Programme. The role will be working closely with a Principal / Lead Advisor as part of a small but growing team. This Programme is in response to the recent Climate Emergency declaration, committing to urgent action on reducing carbon emissions. It is a cross agency initiative which is scaling up and has a lot of interest from the Minister. The Senior Policy Advisor will largely focus on developing the programme strategy, and will take a hands on approach with getting the initial policy and planning in place to get the work programme up and running.
Ideally looking for someone with the following
Experienced Senior Policy Advisor
Strategic ‘big P’ policy experience
Programme strategy development and planning
Strong core policy skills set and the ability to be hands on with a lot of the work
Excellent writing skills – ability across ministerial servicing, briefings to the Minister, cabinet papers etc.
Ability to translate technical information into plain English
Cross Agency project / programme experience
Ability to be adaptable and work in a fast-moving environment
