Job Description:

The opportunity

Our client is providing the domestic and export market with quality timber products produced from plantation grown Radiata Pine. Their philosophy is governed by customer’s needs. Their manufacturing processes give the optimum turnaround from order though to delivery. Their strategy is to be the preferred provider of quality timber products.

The role

As the Sales Manager of a sales team, you will work together to ensure that all production is sold with minimal fluctuations. This is a Senior role within the business where you will need a strong knowledge of the production process and be able to support the GM in their absence. You will be supported by a strategic, forward thinking team and a competitive salary package (incl. base salary, bonus and car) are on offer.  

Maintain working relationship with existing customers with respect to orders, price, product/service improvements,

Proactive account management and new business development,

Set sales objectives, budgets and strategies in liaison with management,

Prepare and maintain a marketing and branding strategy in conjunction with the GM,

Ensure highest levels of client service and continually enhance the reputation of the company,

Assist the GM with monthly production planning and actively monitor and manage optimum stock levels,

Monthly sales reporting and ensuring robust systems are in place. 


Skills & experience

Excellent understanding of the sales and marketing process,

Strategic thinker with an eye for future opportunities,

Well developed time management skills with an ability to work in a team, as well as  autonomously and be self driven,

Proven sales background in the timber or similar industry,

Knowledge of Radiata Pine and timber grades will be viewed favourably,

Strong negotiation skills,

Strong written and verbal communication, ability to communicate in a clear and convincing manner,

Strong focus on systems and processes,
