About the role
Managing a team of 8, you will be the Quality and Food Safety lead for the company. As such you will oversee the maintenance and improvement of the site’s Quality Systems, driving continuous improvement for their manufacturing practices and products. You will also be responsible for compliance to recognised local and international food standards such as HACCP and Australian New Zealand Food Standards Code and customer standards such as WQA, IFS and BRC.
In an organisation where cross functional communication and teamwork are vital, your customer focus, interpersonal skills and drive will be as important as your quality and compliance knowledge. You will be a strong negotiator and a confident decision maker. Your toolbox of skills and attributes will include:
Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Process Engineering or similar
Minimum of 5 years QA experience within the food industry.
Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to influence others and maintain relationships and a passion for staff development.
Lead by example, with a hands on approach to tasks.
Internal auditing experience and strong knowledge of NZ food legislation.
The mindset to build a strategy and hands-on approach to driving continuous improvement activities throughout the business.
