We are currently supporting one of our global Facilities Management clients in seeking an experienced Project Controller to fill an urgent need in their business based in Onehunga, Auckland.

About the Role: This role requires an experienced Project Controller who will work closely with Project Managers, the Leadership team and NZ Finance leader to assist in the management and driving of governance of projects. As the Project Controller you will play a vital role in financial management of a portfolio of small to medium sized projects and will have the opportunity to improve systems, reports and financial controls.

Daily responsibilities

Support Project Managers with cost control, planning, forecasting, report production, cash flow maintenance & change management in a timely fashion and in accordance with relevant standards and contractual requirements.

Understand the project lifecycle on key projects and ensure PMs/Management are implementing actions to either mitigate risks or leverage opportunities.

Develop and maintain the overall forecasting for projects ranging in size and complexity.

Monitor a portfolio of small to medium sized projects.

Manage customer relationships and resolve queries.

Perform and improve end-of-month project accounting procedures, and related analysis & reporting.

Work with the company’s financial and project management systems and processes.

Reporting to the Finance Business Lead, this role will be key in ensuring key project delivery within budget and timeframes.

There is an urgent need for the right person to start as soon as possible.

Essential Background, Skills & ExperienceAbility to collaborate with multiple stakeholders (PMs, Leadership team, Finance, Admin).

5+ years’ experience working on varying sizes of projects.

‘Pronto’ ERP experience is desirable.

Good understanding of project governance fundamentals.

Strong desire and demonstrable experience on improving governance, processes and inefficiencies.

Analytical and problem-solving skills including analysing data and information and reporting results.

Advanced Excel skills.
