Our client is a key player in Auckland’s healthcare infrastructure.
An opportunity has become available for a Procurement Specialist to take up a pivotal position within the Capital Projects team. The role will have a broad range of tasks associated with it including the set-up of systems, processes and build capability for the Capital Project teams such that procurement activities is in alignment with Government Rules of Sourcing.
This role will work closely with Project Managers (PMs) to guide procurement strategy, contract models and compile RFx’s on all major projects, acting as Subject Matter Expert when advising PMs. This role will be central to all procurement activities within the Capital delivery Team ensuring transparency and adherence to probity policy. The role will also perform the occasional procurement exercise for projects smaller than $1m.
In this role you will be regularly challenged by a wide range of project delivery issues often involving staff expectations requiring wide consultation with stake holders and high element of problem solving. There will be a requirement to be able to prioritise issues and negotiate time frames, while still providing a quality customer service.
To be considered for this role, candidates will ideally have at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar Procurement Specialist role. Experience with setting up consultant (CCCS) and construction (3910/3916) contracts will be highly regarded, as will an understanding of government procurement rules. First rate communication skills and the ability to influence and deal with a complex stakeholder base will be a key part of this role.
This is being recruited as a 12-month fixed term contract however the role has a longer-term viability within the organisation.
