In business since the late 70’s this dynamic privately owned pharmaceutical manufacturing company has a reputation for quality and innovation. They operate from a purpose-built facility that provides a complete manufacturing solution to a variety of industry sectors. They produce health, hygiene, personal care and animal health products for both local and international markets. They are able to develop a formulation from concept and can also offer an existing formulation from their existing library with all manufacturing carried out under cGMP compliance. From a total turnkey solution to contract manufacturing and the production of their own inhouse brands their skilled team have an unwavering commitment to deliver. Over the last 3 years the plant has undergone significant capital investment and is now poised for further growth.
Currently they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong quality background from the pharmaceutical sector and the ability to develop and manage teams of people. The main purpose of this role is to provide leadership of processes and people in the supply chain, production, engineering, logistics, customer services and warehouse functions. This role will also be responsible for recruiting and training personnel and facility /physical plant up-keep and capital improvements. This role works closely with the Head of Quality to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
Skills and attributes sought for this role are
Five years plus experience as an Operations Manager within highly regulated, quality manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical, medical devices or nutraceuticals with a working knowledge of MEDSAFE, ACVM, TGA and FDA
Ability to implement business strategy, ensuring adherence to product quality, delivery performance and production costs.
Ensure manufacturing cGMP best practices are applied with a focus on continuous improvement and a commitment to quality.
Internal and external audit experience.
Provide leadership for the successful day to day operation of the facility
Previous experience leading implementation of lean principals and methods
Ability to manage production capacity and proactively grow throughput in accordance with strategic objectives.
Able to engage and inspire personnel by focusing on coaching, feedback and driving quality practices.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across all departments internally and with clients and suppliers externally.
Ability to analyse workforce requirements, prepare and present reports to board level
Strong financial acumen (P&L’s, Capex budgets, etc).In return this well-established company can offer plenty of challenge and variety in this multifaceted role.
