My client is a family run business based in West Auckland, who have an excellent culture and the staff retention is high. Opportunities like this are highly sought after, and they don't come along often. This position will require a compliment of both technical skills and business acumen. As part of both the technical and commercial teams the successful candidate for this role will be responsible for the creation and implementation of sales and marketing plans to support local solutions for customers. The candidate will strengthen knowledge within the organisation and as a science communicator will bring networking and knowledge sharing with clients.

As Nutritionist, some of your key areas of responsibility will include

Work closely with Account Managers and sales teams to understand market needs and pains in order to design value propositions and solutions

Align key services tools and trials required to deliver strategic marketing plans, quality products and exceptional services

Develop, maintain and grow commercial relationships for knowledge exchange with key industry opinion leaders and stakeholders both within the NZ market and globally

Visit both existing and prospective clients according to pre-established plans with management

Provision of sales forecasting budgets, sales reports, market potential, industry production information, market trends and risks for both customers and key products

Collaborate with the technical team to develop and launch products which generate value for the company as well as clients

Develop sales promotion strategies to meet sales and profitability targets

Evaluate the nutritional value of feeds, feed supplements for commercial animals and pets

Formulate diets and supplements to optimise growth, reproduction, health and or performance of commercial livestock and pets

Conduct animal based studies and laboratory trails as applicableMonitor feed formulations to meet quality performance and animal health standards

Project work in the pre ruminant micro and macro nutritional supplement area to produce new lines of these products to the market place

To be successful in this role

Bachelor degree in Animal Science, Agronomy or Agri Science

Business management qualifications an asset

Business management qualifications an asset

Previous experience (minimum 10 years) in animal nutrition field both locally within NZ and internationally is essential

Strong working knowledge of and experience in pasture based ruminant production systems, as well as global feed industry processes

Science commuincator – ability to conduct technology transfer from global research programmes to the farm gate

Market analysis including value proposition and knowledge transfer processes

Sales skills: particularly around production positioning related to technical sales
