About the Company

This is a great success story of a business. A NZ owned and operated food distribution company with offices in Auckland and other centres. They are continuing their growth and with this comes a great opportunity to join the team, make your role your own and deliver value and efficiencies as you lead the team from the front. This is a hands-on role, but you will be leading the nightshift team and they are the backbone of the business. Fulltime and full on, you know how to lead the diverse team to get results.

The night shift team is the busiest team and you will be running the show from 5pm to 6am Sunday through to Friday.

You will oversee the planning, organising and supervising of everything from picking, packing, processing and preparing orders to getting them out the door on time every time. This means some unique challenges and some fantastic opportunities to delight and deliver.

What makes you stand out is your ability to multitask, to motivate and lead people in a changing and challenging environment. What’s more, you inherently understand the customer and keep them at front of mind when you make decisions and lead the team.

Responsibilities include

Food Safety – accountable for the receipt and storage of all products meeting Food Safety requirements and regulations.

Leadership – Leadership of the Night Shift team members.

Team Capability & Development – Develop and motivate a high performing team across the Night Shift Team.

Process Improvement – optimise processes and systems.

Lean Manufacturing – Champion of Lean Thinking, driving best practice, improving manufacturing efficiencies and cost optimisation.

About You

Leadership experience with the ability to influence other members of the team.

Detailed and expert understanding of all the key elements of Operations / People Leadership.Excellent numeric and analytical skills.

Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Strong understanding of people management and the key drivers of building a strong, self-managing team.

Relentless pursuit of improvements of both team members and culture.

Enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
