About the role

In this role you will be part of a team what executes a range of Mechanical Fitting activities such as maintenance, repair, overhaul and installation both on and offshore. This role is based in Devonport, Auckland.

Key responsibilities

Conduct pre/post maintenance performance checks

Determine appropriate repair methods by ensuring adherence to applicable maintenance standards

Assist other teams during peak load periods

Work collaboratively with other departments of the Business

Make recommendations for workshop process and procedure improvements or changes to maintenance routines

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes

Trade Certificate (Level 4) in relevant engineering discipline

Full NZ Driver’s Licence

A wide range of machining and engineering skillsExcellent problem-solving skills to diagnose situations and come up with creative solutions

Quick and confident decision making

Excellent communication and customer relation skills

Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment while maintaining composure and task focus

Knowledge and experience of small boat systems, equipment and general marine engineering

Knowledge and experience of small boat systems, equipment and general marine engineering

Seagoing engineering experience

You will display a high standard of workmanship as well as excellent Mechanical and Electrical Diagnostic skills which is a must for this role.

Advanced Trade Certificate and certification in Fork Hoist Operation, First Aid, Slinging and Overhead Crane Operation would be desirable.
