The company is seeking a Laser and/or CNC Programmer to join their team.
About the role
Reporting to the Production Office Team Leader, we are seeking a mechanically minded and technically skilled team member. You will be developing and maintaining the production programming schedules to ensure that all machines are operated at maximum capacity for the available workload.
Some of your key tasks will include and are not limited to:
Control workflow to machines using internal scheduling systems,
Assist in quoting and feasibility of the laser cutting and press programming jobs, including feedback sessions,
Verify manufacturing processes including inspection of work pieces throughout a production run,
Have a solutions focused communication with supervisor and other staff,
Reporting to team about under quoted and problematic jobs,
Offer suggestions to improve manufacturability of designs,
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for repeat jobs,
Participate in training.
Skills and experience
Strong engineering fundamentals and a methodical approach to problem solving,
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes in a production environment,
Knowledge of tooling and capabilities,
Excellent communication, phone manner & written skills,
Ability to multitask, respond quickly and prioritise your workload,
Confident with computers and learning programming software,
Auto CAD software, intermediate level desired.
