About the Role

The role of Lamb Processing Manager is based in the sunny Hawkes Bay.

The primary purpose of this role is to effectively manage the Lamb Processing operation ensuring optimal process operations are achieved through the effective use of staffing and processing resource to meet customer expectations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for all operational areas from carcases chillers through to receipt of product into cold-store. The position will have 5 direct reports, and provide leadership to a wider group of approximately 180 staff across two shifts.

The hours for this position will be generally be day shift, however there will be a need from time to time to work across the evening shift to provide the required leadership.

About You

We are on the hunt for a committed and inspiring leader who has experience in meat processing and production management of high-volume manufacturing and distribution.

As an excellent communicator and visible leader, you will support frontline staff through training, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained. You will be a sound decision-maker and thrive in a fast-changing agile environment.

To be successful you will demonstrate

Senior leadership experience in a similar role

Knowledge of processing requirements, ideally specifically for lambSkilled in mechanical, IT and technology in a processing environment

Ability to inspire and motivate a team

Proven results in continuous improvement in manufacturing roles

Strong competency with reporting and financial acumen
