About the role

In this role you will be managing a small team of Fitter Turners who are responsible for a range of activities associated with maintenance, repairs, installations and overhauls both on and offshore. This role is based in Devonport, Auckland.

Key responsibilities

Plan, organise and coordinate the designated work areas ensuring work is completed safely, promptly and within budget allocations

Oversee the repair quality to warrant all work carried out, as required, conforms to agreed Engineering Standards or Classification requirements

Assist with Investigations where requested, to determine cause and recommend remedial actions

Comply with all requirements of the company Safety, Health & Environmental manual, company or local procedures

Assist with employee assessments

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes

Trade Certificate (Level 4) in relevant engineering discipline

Full NZ Driver’s Licence

A wide range of machining and engineering skillsGreat leadership skills and knowledge

Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose situations and come up with creative solutions

Quick and confident decision making

Excellent communication and customer relation skills

Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment while maintaining composure and task focus

Advanced Trade Certificate and certification in Fork Hoist Operation, First Aid, Slinging and Overhead Crane Operation would be desirable.
