About the company
Sitting in the construction space, our client has a large number of sites throughout the country. Within a recent shift in focus around Environmental Health & Safety in the workplace, this newly created role of EHS Business Partner has been established.
About the role
This newly created role has been established as our client works to reset the culture and key operational activities to drive safety as a forefront focus for the business. Reporting into the Head of EHS and working alongside a newly created team of 10, you will have the opportunity to support the development of EHS policies, standard, guidance and other documented processes and activities.
You will be across the New Zealand Health & Safety Act and have knowledge of manufacturing/construction based environments. You will know how processes can be best implemented to prevent harm to individuals. Working across multiple sites, you will have the ability to quickly build repour with line managers and help them to understand the necessity of the new lens of Environmental Health & Safety and provide them with the necessary support so that they can role out initiatives to their teams.
You will be competent in developing reporting processes and tools and have proven experience in working through investigations to improve systems/processes in place.
Have exceptional relationship building and influencing skills. This will aide you as you support a large number of line managers to bring their teams on board with the EHS journey
Be passionate about promoting EHS with people being at the forefront of the why
Have experience in supporting the implementation of EHS programs into businesses/sites
Have a comprehensive understanding of the H&S Act as well as an understanding of ACC and workers compensation claims management process
