About the Role

Operating across multiple local sites, you will report to the GM of Service Delivery in Wellington, while also working really closely with the Auckland lead for HSE.

To begin, let’s cover the core functions

Monitor the HSE incident / accident reporting and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Investigate incidents or accidents using 5 WHYS or ICAM and write investigation reports

Manage injury claims across the depots and support management in the development and monitoring of return to work plans

Conduct and participate in HS&E inspections and audits

Maintain the hazardous inventory databases for our workshops

Monitor the maintenance of our depot waste management systems and manage the resource consents for environmental discharges

Support the depot Health and Safety Committee Chairs in the delivery of the Annual HSE Plan objectives.

In short, the role is about assisting all sites in achieving the objectives of the Annual HSE Plan and building overall business capability – striving for constant improvement.

About YouWe are looking for a driven person who wants to contribute to a positive health and safety culture. Your high standards and exceptional detail go without saying!!

You’ll be a highly organised person with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability provide subject matter expertise to different business groups – with influence!

A tertiary or professional qualification in health and safety and/or environment is required, but more important is at least 3-4 years working knowledge of the New Zealand health and safety legislation and its application.

You are confident and can self-manage - taking the initiative, with a pragmatic and logical approach. Busy, complex places don’t scare you – in fact the opposite – this is where you thrive!
