About the Client

Whether it’s turning landfill gas to power, organic waste to compost or returning our beaches to pristine condition, our client believes in rolling their sleeves up and doing what it takes to keep New Zealand beautiful. They are a Nationwide service providing everyday kiwis with a wide range of collection services. Most recently they secured a new contract based in the Bay of Plenty region and are now looking to develop a new team of Class 5 Refill Drivers to complete the day-to-day collections.

Your new role

The successful candidate will be responsible for transferring waste from local stations to the landfill for internal and external customers. Being the face of the company, you are responsible for assisting in the loading and unloading duties. This will be conducted in a timely, efficient and professional manner. You will understand your vehicle and mechanisms, its standard operating procedures and adhere to legal requirements at all times. Customer service is key in this role and ensuring safety is not compromised.

The Opportunity

We are working towards an official start date of 1st June for you to be out on the road starting collections which is why we are starting this recruit nice and early! Prior to the start date, there will be a paid extensive 4-week training which will include theory and practical teaching to ensure you are confident for when you start out on the field. You will be based in Tauranga and travelling to Hampton Downs on a regular basis.

To be successful in this role, you must

Pass a pre-employment drug test

Hold a clean, Full Class 5 licence for a minimum of 2 years

Road ranger experience and ideally tipping experience

Fit and able to lift 10kg weight (minimum) multiple times throughout your collections

Hard working, reliable and a strong work ethic is a must

Able to relocate to the Bay of Plenty area before June 2021 or be local to the area
