The Role

Skyline Aviation Group are seeking a motivated CEO with a proven track record in leading an operational business to continue to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction and revenue growth, due to the retirement of Skyline’s current founding CEO.

Skyline holds significant Crown and commercial contracts in New Zealand and beyond, and in addition operates across the Asia Pacific region and globally. The company has been established in the New Zealand market for nearly 30 years.

The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills, excellent judgement, good business acumen, ethics and demonstrated experience in all aspects of leading a successful organisation. This includes skills in high-level strategy, business development, and experience in managing significant contracts with multiple clients.

Responsibilities include

Developing innovative, high-quality business strategies and plans, ensuring they align with the short and long-term objectives of the board.

Making high-quality and well-researched investment recommendations to advance the business and increase profits.

Taking the lead across all aspects of the company by reviewing how departments work together to reach company goals and by coming up with fresh ideas and implementing plans that will continue to set the company apart from its competitors.

Working closely with the Finance Manager to prepare annual budgets, complete risk analysis on potential investments and advise the Board with regard to investment risk and return.

Ensuring ongoing compliance and building strong relationships with legal and regulatory obligations.

Managing Human Relations responsibilities across the company's 80 staff.

Working closely with the operations, engineering and clinical teams to ensure appropriate company policies and procedures and oversight of operations to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and relevant regulatory authorities.

Providing real-time operational problem solving and decision-making support to ensure all service delivery demands are delivered on time and to required standards.

Embracing and expanding the organisation's knowledge of Tikanga, kawa (protocols and customs) and Māori cultural values.

Providing outstanding leadership and communication with all staff to optimise staff satisfaction and performance.

Working alongside the Quality and Safety Manager to ensure regulatory compliance in all divisions.

Meeting the senior person requirements (after an induction process) for the NZCAA required CEO post holder role.

Desired Criteria

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline

Approximately 10 years of experience in senior leadership within a highly operational environment

Demonstrated experience leading teams through change and growth

Ability to build positive relationships among executives, clients and staff
