This role is with a major government client who are tasked with delivering a minor programme of new builds and redevelopment works for education facilities.
This role would require you to work with schools, contractors, consultants and council to ensure pre contract deliverables are understood in terms of design, planning, implementation and delivery. You will also be monitoring contracts in terms of costs, budgets, programme delivery, performance and timeliness. You will need to be able to understand the construction process, the NZ build environment and construction programmes. Pending experience you will also contribute towards strategic planning and setting priorities with programme managers.
To be a success in this role you will come from a background within the construction project management sector with experience of at least 3 - 4 years worked in client side or consultancy roles, ideally some roles worked in the government sector. You are either a quantity surveying, architecture, construction management or engineering graduate.
Most importantly is your communication and stakeholder relationship building skills with clients. You possess sound organisational skills, commercial awareness and ability to drive process and ensure project outcomes are met. You also need to be able to work within well defined systems for ensuring accountability for spending tax payer dollars.
Salary: $350 per day
